Basketball Gage

Gage was on a city Basketball team this year and he had a lot of fun. He had a game every Saturday for 8 weeks. Gage seems to always get put on the team that doesn’t have a great attendance :) Well I guess that means he gets to play more when nobody shows up. He did really good and became a great ball player and team-mate as well. Gage is very compassionate to others and never gets mad when they don’t win. He has the best sportsmanship I have ever seen, it is something that is rare for being only 11. Here are a few photos of his games.

Sleding with friends

On Sunday March 1 we went up to Sara’s cabin and went sledding…..It was so much fun. We rode the four wheelers in and played for hours. We had lunch (Chili not Wise when you have to ride home with three stinky boy’s). Becca brought her cocomotion that makes hot chocolate and it was awesome. I will be asking for one of those :) She made us adults a yummy Chai and we sat in the sun and relaxed. Matt was a poligamist for a day but with three great sister wives I did not hear any complaining!! The kids had so much fun and got along so well, not any arguing at all. It was such a great day and the sun felt so good. Everyone got a bit of sun and it softened the snow so it made it a bit hard to get out. Matt was the hero and got us all out okay. We where stuffed with stuff on the way back and I had to be pulled behind the wheeler on a tube. The snow was so soft that if we stopped we would get stuck again so Matt said I should ride “just in case”. I was freaked out but being the mom I am jumped on and we where off. I did pretty good until Matt ran over a bush and I was tossed into the air and then landed right on my butt and tipped over onto my face. I was laughing so hard I felt no pain, Matt had tears and said we could have one a lot of money of we had been recording. Gage was scared for me the whole time and thought I was going to slide off of the road and down the cliff (could have happened it was pretty scary). We got back all on one piece and had such a great time with such great friends. Here are a few pictures of our day.

Stomp for the cure

This is my favorite picture! Becca, me and Sara. My BFF’S

So on February 7th we did a Breast Cancer snowshoe event. It was to help raise money for the cure of breast cancer. It was so much fun and we had a great time doing something for a great cause! We went up the night before and stayed in a hotel (we had to be at the course at 8:30 am) so we did not have to drive to the Mt Dell Golf course in the morning. We had intentions on doing the 5K but we ended up doing a 3K due to some medical conditions :) Rebbeca gave blood the day before and we stayed up until about 3 AM so her energy level was a bit low (as was all of ours :) . Camille had two really bad bloody noses and we ended up making a great picture moment out of it! We had so much fun and really loved that the weather turned out to be so beautiful and dry. At the end of the event they did awards and we all got our pictures taken means that we where about the only team in uniform – thanks to Rebbeca and another one of her great ideas :) At the awards ceremony they had all of the women who where or who had fought breast cancer to go to the front. It was very emotional and we all had to fight back the tears. I was shocked that most of the women who where standing looked to be my age or very close to it. It really makes you grateful for your health and what you have in this life. Rebbeca won a great prize of a set of snowshoes, poles and gators (love my gators best investment I have made for snowshoeing). It was a amazing weekend and we are going to do it again next year. If any of you are interested please comment on my blog and I will let you know when we will sign up again. It is well worth it for sure. The more the better and next year Matt is going as well so bring your husbands too :) Here are a few of our photo shots – We love to take pictures :)

Snow Shoe anyone?!?!

Some friends and I have taken up the fun winter sport of SNOW SHOEING!!! Matt bought me some shoes for Christmas (because it was the only thing I wanted :) I love it and it makes winter not feel so harsh and depressing. I do not like to be stuck inside all day and night and winter makes me feel stuck but now I have no reason to stay inside and mope :) We have so much fun going out and just hitting any trail or mountain side we want on a nice day. My friends are great and have there own shoes as well so we make it out quite a bit. Here are a few photos of us up Diamond Fork (about 10 minutes up Spanish Fork Canyon).

un-employed for the first time in 15 years!!!

I am shocked it has almost been two month since I last Blogged!!! Sorry and I will try to keep up more. I should be able to do more blogging now that I am no longer employed (like the other 42% of America). I was laid off from my job at BMC West on January 21 after 14 years and four months of service. The building departments have been hit very hard with the housing downfall and I just hope they will be able to pull through these hard times. So I should be blogging a bit more :) Yeah!!! I do have hopes to go back to school but I am so scared and don’t know if I will be ale to make it. I am going to take a CNA class to get my certification and then I would love to look into getting into becoming a Surgical Technician but we will have to see. I am now working on the math test for the program and the first round kicked my butt! I forgot how much I don’t like math and most of it means that I have not done it for such a long time is erased from my brain. Good thing Matt is smart and such a great tutor to me he is so patient and willing to help me. I take the test next week so wish me luck :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

We hope you all had a merry Christmas with happy memories and loving moments!!! We had a great Christmas and it was one of my favorite. The boy’s had a great time and really could not wait for it to get here. It keeps getting more and more fun with each year that the boys get older, I truly enjoy my kids being the ages that they are now. Here are a few photos of our Christmas morning…..

Molly knows what presents are hers.

Gage got the DS he has been asking for.

Garrett leaves no time for opening a box….he rips right through it!

Gage watches as Garrett attempts to open the gift that he wrapped for him – Good job Gage….How many rolls of tape did that take??? Oh well at least he was not going to be able to peek in that one :)

Dad and Garrett love the new jumbo remote.

Garrett loved his new Quicksilver jacket, he needed one so bad. He wore the last one with a broken zipper and the thumb oles where tore and tied back together :) He is a little hard on his clothes to say the least!!!

Matt got Gage and himself new Boston hat’s and Gage absolutely LOVES his.

We started off the morning opening gifts an then had a breakfast casserole with Robbie and Bonnie (Matt’s parents) and his sister Andie and her two kids. We ate and then attacked the Wii! We got the wii fit and three new games so we had a lot of breaking into do. We had a great laugh at watching everyone take there turns to try to get the best score. I would have to say that I am pretty competitive :) I love that thing!!! Shortly after that we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Larsen’s to sit and chat for a bit. We then went over to Robbie and Bonnie’s for Christmas Dinner – YUMMY!!! We also played Snorta for a few hours and I know that is why my stomach muscles are so sore!!! I have never laughed so hard in my life. If you have never played it then you need to it is so much fun!!! We hope you and all of you loved ones had a great day. I know that I am very thankful for family and friends, I love them all so much. Thanks to all of you that are a part of our lives…WE LOVE YOU!!!

Happy 11th Birthday Gage

How crazy is it that my kid is 11!!! How is this possible? It feels like yesterday when he would ask for his BG (blanket) and want me to rock him to sleep! I love so much about this boy and I am so lucky to have him as my son. We went to Nickelcade with some friends and went to Chilli’s with the family and Grandma and Grandpa Robbie. Gage ate a full plate of ribs and was still hungry…why is that no longer surprising to me??? He is now the same height as me and that is so wrong! He asked for a rip stick for his birthday means that I ran the last one over on Halloween :( He has not left anything out since….at least he learns from my mistakes. Well Gage, I love you more then you can imagine and I am so proud of the person who you are thanks for being you and such a great son, I love you – love Mom

Blowing out his candles on his German pancakes on his Birthday breakfast. This is Gage’s most favorite breakfast food. Him and Garrett will eat a whole 9×13 pan by themselves!!!

Gage now has his dad’s crazy addiction for baseball cards!!! He got this cool binder with some card inserts and some packs of cards from Grandma and grandpa Robbie. He was in heaven and could not wait to open them up. He has a few good ones…so I hear :)

Crazy boy!!!

HIP-HOP

Garrett had his winter hip-hop concert on December 4Th at Springville High. He has really gotten good and enjoys it a lot. I think he likes it more now because it is an all boy class and they feel like it is NOT a dance class because there are no girls :) One of my BFF’s Sara Mower teaches it as well as a bunch of other kids, she is awesome. Garrett is the best at the worm and the robot he is really quite good at all of it!! Good job Garrett, you did awesome and we are so proud of you. Keeping having fun and living life!! We love you so much!!

Thanks….Giving

I feel that Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for what we have and have been given in this great lifetime. I know we should be thankful all of the time but it is always that easy. I know that I am thankful for so much but usually think of the things in life that I don’t have or want….human nature is never satisfied! Here are a few thought of mine….
Thank you for allowing me to be me.
For letting me shine when I have earned that right.
For patting me on the back when I have done good.
For putting me in check when I was overly cocky.
For appreciating that I’d do just about anything to help anyone ~
For not taking advantage of that fact!
Thank you for being you.
For coming through with help when you know I’m to stubborn to ask for it.
For building my confidence by recognizing what I do accomplish.
For keeping me humble – without hurting my confidence.
For not judging me too harshly, because I really am only human.
For forgetting those judgments – because that’s what friends do.
For realizing as my friend, you are on a pedestal
For understanding that I of course expect superhuman traits (like reading my mind) from you.
For forgiving me when I have been too hard on you.
For knowing that when I’m hard on you it’s usually because I’m disappointed in myself.
For knowing I’d never intentionally hurt you or your feelings.
For making me laugh when I wanted to cry.
For lending your shoulder when I needed to cry, without making me feel like a wimp.
For knowing I’m one of the guys, who’s still a girl and even sometimes a lady.
So this Thanksgiving – remember I am thankful for you.Your individuality. Your uniqueness. Just plain ole YOU! Your unconditional love of someone just like me, who love’s you unconditionally for being in my life.
I have been so grateful for my parents who sacrificed so much for me to have never let me go with-out anything!
my husband who puts up with me…and somehow still seems to love me through it all, for all he does as a husband and a father, all of his hard work, love and laughs.
For my awesome boys who put meaning into my everyday and make me so happy to be a mom.
For my family….they have helped to make me the person I am today (like it or not :) I am grateful to have come from a large family and to have multiple siblings who are also my friends.

Thanks to everyone who is in or has passed through my life, all of my life experiences have made my who I am and I am grateful that you are in my life. Thanks for being part of the ride and I hope we have a long and happy road ahead!!!

Love,

Britt
